OmGHi2u!!
So there I was, 6:30am. I had just found myself awake after only 6 hours of sleep. Following my normal morning ritual, I pop up out of bed, brush my teeth, wash my face, shave and head to the office I build in the basement of our condo to settle in for a day’s worth of work.
When I get downstairs, I have to fiddle with one of the overhead lights as the socket is out of whack. It’s so annoying. Finished with that, I hop on my computer and dial up Fark.com. I’ve found that starting your day with a good laugh is a great way to set the pace for the day.
“Argh, Fark’s being slow” I said to myself. It’s right here where my eyes start to drift around my room and my heart skips a beat. Say hello to my little friend, Agelenopsis Naevia (funnel-web grass spider)! This bad boy, at near 2 inches long was just chilling there, next to my desk.
It’s not that I have a problem with spiders. In fact, I’m actually fascinated by them. There’s something so unique about these creatures that I just can’t take my mind off. I’ll admit, they do freak me out mostly because they’re always mean looking and show up where and when you’d least expect them (such as this beast). What’s worse is come out of nowhere and end up right in your line of sight, the whole “oh crap” factor sets in and you’re left wondering “where are the others?”
So when I saw it, I did what every rational person should do; take some photos! I think I managed to get about 15 or 20 and as you can see, even put up my ruler under it so you could see how big it really was. However, once it tried to excape, I introduced it to the busness of a Social Security Bennifets booklet. I wasn’t about to have that thing running around my house.
