Firefox Extension of the Day
After reformatting last week, I was left trying to sort through the massive Firefox extension database again. I really love the fact that there are so many extensions out there, but holy crap is that a pain in the ass to do. So I figured since I seem to do just that every few months or so, I’d start listing some of the extensions I use and install on almost every Firefox setup I do. Maybe someone will find this useful.
Today’s featured extension is Nightly Tester Tools. This bad ass extension gives you the ability to make Firefox believe any extension you’re trying to install is compatible. This is amazingly useful for those of us that use the Firefox betas or nightly builds as we can finally get those other extensions to work the way we need them to without having to wait for the author or another community member to make what could be a minor change to the package. Now, I’m not going to say this will make the extension actually work. In fact, you could actually (in theory, not happened with me) break Firefox all together. So a degree of caution is needed and I would suggest installing one extension at a time. Anyhow, check it out!
