F150 vs. Contour
What a day. What a day. Since Firestone did such a good, fast job on my car, Michelle took hers into the shop today to get it checked out. We had some work done on the front end a while back, but she said it was still feeling a little funky. Well, we dropped it off and hit the town a little bit while we waited. After dinner, we checked out a mall for a few then headed back to the shop. We got there just in the nick of time as Jason, the manager, was shutting things down. In the rush, I parked my car out front of the building and we ran in so we could get the full damage report. It wasn’t all doom-n-gloom, but it wasn’t pretty either. A busted ball joint and shot roters among a few other issues.
Anyhow, we chilled there for a while talking things over with the guy and going over options. Near the end of the conversation, one of the other guys at the shop burst in the door and was like “Hey, Jason. Come here.”. We all sorta laughed about it because it really wasn’t professional. We talked for another minute or two, gave him the OK to start work on the car and called it a day. Here’s where the fun comes in. When we got outside, everyone was hovering around my car. It turns out, the dude that burst into the shop demanding attention, had back an F150 they were working on into my car. The damage wasn’t too bad, but clearly the entire back quarter panel would need to be replaced.
To their credit, they owned up to the whole thing and said it would be taken care of. Jason even came out and took a bunch of photos and wrote up a statement saying what had happened. So now it’s the waiting game to see when Firestone will get in touch with me to fix my car…again. I’ll post a few pics once I pull them off my camera.
