Regrouped and Reborn

You know, for a while there, I was starting to feel a little out of place in the blog world. While I rarely had anything truly interesting to say, I was posting every day for a good month and a half. This put me at odds with just about every other personal blog I’ve ever visited. They all had massive gaps from one post to another and every time one would happen, they would go off on a tangent about how sorry they were for not updating you on what they had for dinner last night.

So the time finally came that I needed a break away from this site. So on October 23rd, I said “Screw it. I’m not going to post.” I then used this new found extra 20 minutes of my day in far more noble pursuits such as helping my dad find a new job and playing Half-Life 2: Deathmatch on the OldFartsClub.com server. Normally, I don’t like taking these type of breaks from life in general, but I was just getting so burnt out that I was really starting to run out of project ideas. When that happens, I need to find some distraction or the quality of my work will suffer like crazy.

To be honest though, I’m not even sure that I’m back in the fast lane again. The idea of spending time in front of a text editor working on more code just makes my head hurt right now. Hell, even typing this up is putting me to sleep. It’s times like these that I always considering becoming one of those “dot com dropouts” and getting some shitty factory job for a while just so I don’t have to work with computers. Then again, when I spend time thinking about that option, I tend to fall back in love with programming and quit my whining.
