Happy Thanksgiving
Not that I get all festive or anything, but Thanksgiving is one of those few holidays that religious nutbags haven’t really over run so I try to enjoy it while it lasts. I’m sure in a few years, we’ll have Bill O’Reilly or Ann Coulter trying to rally their massive bobble head army to politicize the lack of Jesus or some other stupid crap. For now though, courage.
In a more sappy tone, there are a few things I’m thankful for. First, my father. He’s more than simply the only member of my family with whom I still talk, he’s a friend, partner in crime and one of the few people on this planet I truly care for. His support, guidance and advice helped make me who I am today and I am eternally grateful. This leads me to the other person I truly care for, Michelle. Her friendship, compassion and daily affection is something I simply can’t imagine my life without. To round out the living things trifecta, I’m thankful for Eina, our dog. There are days where I feel like a total leper until I she her short little tail wagging like crazy at the sight of me. She’s more than a pet, she’s a member of the family.
With that out of the way, today’s plan includes sitting around on my ass and going to dinner over at Michelle’s parents. Her mom can cook one bad ass meal, but they have this weird thing of eating at like, 4:30pm. That’s not dinner, it’s a late lunch. Oh well, it’ll be the best meal I’ve had since last Thanksgiving so who am I to bitch, right?
