Talk about your long year. Frankly, I’m none too upset watching this year slip by into the history books. From a personal view, it’s been one rough year. I’ve cut off contacts with my mother after she let her third husband walk all over her, business has been very slow for me, I’ve only worked on three personal projects (one of which was simply a redesign of an existing one), and I’ve had anything but a healthy 12 months. That isn’t to say things haven’t gone well either. I found myself with a new puppy, managed to learn some new Ajax goodness, read more books than normal and, well, I’m still alive.

I guess I have less to complain about than, say, George W. Bush. If the dude’s not drinking after the mess this year was for him and his administration, it’ll be a damn miracle. The larger number of people against the failing Iraq war, indictments against a Republican leader and a top VP aid, Hurricane Katrina and the complete failure of FEMA and some of the worst approval ratings since Nixon and you’ve got a damn good reason to drink.

Speaking of drinking, I’ve got a good round of it to do myself. So here’s to a much better 2006 and a very safe night for all. Come back alive, fools.
