Here’s a great bit of news for those idiots who voted Republican on the grounds that they “support our troops”. They don’t care about the troops. The men and women fighting for a war on faulty intelligence have had their safety flat out ignored. This apathy for the lives of our soldiers is directly responsible for the death of at least 74 Marines.

A secret Pentagon study has found that as many as 80 percent of the Marines who have been killed in Iraq from wounds to their upper body could have survived if they had had extra body armor. Such armor has been available since 2003, but until recently the Pentagon largely has declined to supply it to troops despite calls from the field for additional protection, according to military officials.

This is simply inexcusable. It’s one thing to know about a request for improved body protection, but a whole different ballgame to actually have it and say “piss off”. Aren’t you glad as much as $2 trillion dollars of your money will be going to killing our bravest?
