Are Republicans Mentally Retarded?
Every now and then, the course of human events requires one to sit back and dish out a healthy “what the fuck is wrong with you people?” For example, take the recent comments of US Senator David Vitter (R-LA).
“I don’t believe there’s any issue that’s more important than this one,” said Sen. David Vitter, a Louisiana Republican. “I think this debate is very healthy, and it’s winning a lot of hearts and minds. I think we’re going to show real progress.”
What’s this all important issue? The mess we’ve made in Iraq? The growing trouble with Iran? Border security? Hell no! Those issues pale in comparison to the biggest threat facing our country: gay marriage. That’s right, with only 44 days left in session, this asshat can’t think of a single thing better for our government to be focused on other than gay marriage.
This is, of course, related to the recently revived issue of, and failed vote for, using the US Constitution to define marriage as a union of one man and one woman. Look, I don’t care what your opinion on the issue is, but to say you can’t think of anything more important shows either a) you’re a complete moron or b) you’ve developed a case of intestinal space parasites that’s forcing you to act like a dumbass.

I made the same comments on my blog. There are so many things going on this week (Iraq, Iran, Canada to name a few) and this is what we’re wasting time on? This is the absence of leadership.
I guess this happens everywhere. In Holland the same thing lately. They focus on pretty useless issues.

I’m actually surprised of this entire debate. We’ve had gay marriages here for a couple of years now. I can’t really say that the bigamists are now pounding the doors saying, what about us. No paedophiles either.
The issue is dumb, the arguments they use are dumb, there’s not a single intelligent thing to be said about it.
If only Democrats weren’t their own worst enemy, some sense would return to Washington…

Currently, here in Finland the Parliament and the people are argueing whether gay women should or should not have the legal right for IVF treatments, let alone adoption. The whole country has gone mad for something that eventually means anything to probably less than 50 people per year.
Stupid old conservative men seriously think this imposes a severe threat against The Concept of a Family, The Concept of Marriage and Parenthood.
They seem to forget that people tend to get kids for purpose and not for fun only and the treatments are far from a walk in the park, being painfull & hard both physically and mentally.
One thing worth pointing out for those who find themselves in an argument with a neocon on the subject is how to address the issue. Don’t simply call it “gay marriage”, use the phrase “gay regulation”. It’s been my experience that this tends to put them in the awkward position of going against a core tenant of Conservative values that government regulation is a bad thing.

Europe has had gay marriages for years now, but I guess we don’t here about that to much since they fell off the face of the planet since then huh? Personally, I am more disappointed with the american people than the government. We are the idiots who repeatedly elect these greedy bastards who lie to us about everything under the sun. Why worry about gays hooking up? Only to keep our attention off this unjust war in Iraq, the enormous budget deficit, the homeless issue in America. How can the most powerful nation on the planet stand to admit we have homeless people?? How can we be so worried about whom Paris Hilton is fucking???? Why do we have racial tension between blacks, asians, hispanic, & whites?? When the fuck are the oppressed lower class americans gonna say enough and stand together, all races, and start a revolution????? Why are we so worried about controlling sovreign nations governments.
